Avoid Household Laundry Arguments

Crayons in the Wash

There is nothing worse than needing to run an errand and all your clean clothes are wrinkled, or needing a sweater for your outfit, only to find it has shrunk in the dryer.

These small mishaps can cause  arguments between husbands and wives and mothers and their children.

Here are a few ways to avoid laundry mishaps, completely avoiding arguments within your home:

  • Shrunken Sweaters: If the directions on your sweater were “misread,” causing your sweaters to shrink, you may be able to save it by adding hair conditioner to the wash and reshaping the sweater.
  • Wrinkled Clothes: If you (or someone else) left the clothes in the dryer for too long they are more than likely wrinkled. Add a wet towel or a wet sock to the load and dry your clothes again.
  • Crayons in the Dryer: If there are a few crayons left in the dry cycle the wax can often be left in the dryer. Scrape the wax out of the dryer and use a hair dryer to clean any additional wax out of the dryer. Use WD-40, followed by a cleaning cloth to clean the dryer out.
  • Pens in the wash: Use rubbing alcohol to try and remove the stain by blotting it on the fabric. Some offer the option of using nail polish remover, be careful as this may permanently ruin your clothing.

  • I want to use a cartoon picture i found that is connected to your blog it is the Chicken and he says “i’m guilty” i am using this in my presentation for Deaf Ministry i am planning to make DVD’s and mailing them out and in most part all will be free possible to sell DVD at cost to some who can afford only to pay for expenses. I am doing this because i believe in helping to present the Gospel. Please reply back. If possible give me some advice.Thank You

  • I totally agree to this. Bickering over something as petty as laundry and washing dishes is stressful not only to the two childish quarrelers but also the family members around you. Saying “I will” first than anyone else will perhaps solve the problem.
