Treating Your Delicate Summer Wardrobe

As the summer dwindles on, the Hampton Roads area has reached temperatures well into the upper 90′s with heat indexes well into the 100 plus range. Tis the season for the perfect summer wardrobe.

Summer fabrics should be light and delicate, allowing your skin to breath in the heat while still providing a fashion forward look. Many summer fabrics require no aggressive care while others require more attention.

Mark Pressed4Time is familiar with many fabrics and wanted to give you a few fabric and care suggestions for the summer.

  • Cotton – An easy summer fabric that breathes and flows. Cotton is an easy fabric to take care of, but there are a few best practices care tips for the fabric. Purchase pre-shrunk or be very mindful of the drying process as the fabric shrinks. Make sure to fully dry cotton to avoid mildew stains and smells.
  • Linen – One of the lightest summer fabrics that can be a little harder to treat. While a lot of linen is washable there are some linen options that may require dry cleaning. Use the gentle cycle on linen and shorter dryer cycles.
  • Rayon- A synthetic fabric that most often has to be hand washed or dry cleaned. For the fabrics that are washable, make sure to wash them in warm water. Avoid ironing at very high temperatures as it may ruin the shine of the fabrics.
Summer should be easy and breezy just like your summer wardrobe. Remember to take the fuss out of your summer clothing care and contact Mark Pressed4Time. Between laundry and dry cleaning, Mark Pressed4Time can handle it all.
